The 5th annual event brings together key executives from the clean energy industry to build valuable business connections in the Midwest

he Midwest Solar Expo returns to Minneapolis for its 5th annual conference and exhibition. Co-located with the 3rd annual Smart Energy Symposium, a half-day speaker series dedicated to the smart, connected grid ecosystem, the event will bring together 400+ clean energy professionals from across the value chain to discuss the latest innovations in solar, energy storage and smart energy technologies. Located at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minneapolis, Park Place from April 30th-May 2nd, the conference will host industry thought leaders, investors, developers, manufacturers, distributors, EPCs, utilities, financiers, public officials and more.

This year’s program will open with a virtual address from U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) that will welcome the attendees to conference located in Minneapolis – the heart of one of the most exciting markets contributing to the clean energy economy in the United States. Keynote sessions will feature clean energy pioneers and advocates from across the Midwest and beyond, including:

  • Jacob Frey, Mayor of Minneapolis
  • Rhone Resch, former President and CEO of Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), now Managing Director of VIMAC Ventures, President and CEO of The Energy Advisors
  • Greg Ridderbusch, President and CEO of Connexus Energy, will be interviewed by Yann Brandt, Managing Editor of SolarWakeup for a live podcast from the conference

“In the face of federal political uncertainty, it is more important than ever for the energy community and state-level governments to collaborate on forwarding the renewable energy transition,” said Jake Rozmaryn, Executive Director of the Midwest Solar Expo. “This year’s conference program and networking sessions will connect industry leaders who are continuing to drive innovation and inspire market competition.”

The 2018 conference program covers a wide variety of topics that are integral to the clean energy industry transition, including emerging markets, tax reform, project finance, policy, project development, asset management and new technology innovations.
