Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS), a Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVOSB) solar energy company, headquartered in Charleston, SC, has just been recognized by SC Biz News as South Carolina’s 2nd fastest growing small businesses for 2018. This the second time that HSGS has been in the top fastest growing small businesses in South Carolina. In 2016, SC Biz News designated HSGS as the #1 Fastest Growing Small Business in South Carolina.

Each year, SC Biz News, a South Carolina based media and news publishing company, selects forty of the fastest growing and top performing companies in South Carolina, twenty small companies and twenty large companies, to be named on a state wide list known as the “Roaring Twenties” .

SC Biz News evaluated companies for the Roaring Twenties designation based on the following criteria: companies must have a physical presence in South Carolina, be a for-profit entity or a nonprofit organization, and have an annual gross revenue of at least $500,000 for each of the fiscal years of 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Selected companies were divided into size categories determined by revenue. A small company was considered as having $10 million or less in revenue and large companies were classified as having over $10 million in revenue. Ranks for each company and category were decided based on revenue growth over a one year period. HSGS was ranked number 2 out of 20 other companies in the small business category.

On October 25th, SC Biz News held an awards banquet at the Capitol of South Carolina, to celebrate HSGS and the rest of the 2018 Roaring Twenties recipients. CEO and Owner of HSGS, Colonel (RET) Dave McNeil says: “We are very grateful for the award and recognition from SC Biz News. HSGS has a very talented and hardworking team and we plan to continue growing our team of talented professionals”.

Since the 2016 award HSGS has hired additional employees, increased their business offerings to include the engineering and installation of microgrids and battery energy storage systems, and expanded into the international market place with multiple solar energy projects currently in progress overseas. HSGS has seen much recognition throughout 2018, including making the list of the Nation’s Top Solar Contractors and the SBA’s Small Business Person of the Year Award for South Carolina.
