Martin Herzfeld has signed contracts with two school districts in California to provide training at a greatly reduced course fee for you and the general public.  Two of the three courses will be offered with affordable pricing at evening adult education locations.  The third advanced daytime coursework is planned to be offered at unique locations.  Know the hazards, know the tasks and advance your career and your business.

COURSE 1:  Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (OSHA)-Authorized for Construction 10 hour classes with emphasis of training is specifically for the solar energy industry @ $90.00 per student.

Two day (2) or five (5) evenings for Federal Occupational and Safety Administration (OSHA) 10 hours - OSHA -Authorized Training Course: Provides coursework on Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in construction and additional instruction to identify work hazards and safety practices in the electric power industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities.  The 10-hour class is intended for entry level workers, through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and contribute to our nation's productivity.  With an OSHA10hr or 30hr for Construction certificate can open the possibilities  to work  in more than 44 California license classification, in addition to the solar speciality. 

Focus Four (4) exams are given and a Final Exam with a passpoint of 80%. In other words, get your Federal OSHA-10hr card for Construction.   Martin Herzfeld is a Federal OSHA-Authorized Construction Trainer to provide either OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 cards with emphasis for the solar energy industry.

COURSE 2:  Solar Photovoltaic (PV) professional development with beginning or continuing North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) education credits for certification or re-certification @ $90.00 per student.

Three (3) day or five (5) evening. Receive up to 18 hours of professional training preparing participants for jobs and career pathways as found here http://irecsolarcareermap.org within the solar industry.  Training will cover: An introduction of photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial and utility scale use.  Major units of this course are (1) Design, (2) Implementation, and (3) Support of solar energy systems.  Emphasis is on neat workmanship installation in accordance with, for example California Electrical Code(CEC)/National Electrical Code (NEC) 110.12, and the career pathway on becoming a qualified person in accordance with Article 100 and 690.4.  The course teaches to the Job Task Analysis (JTA) to both the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and the domains of the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Standards.  In addition, to other accepted trade standards for good and workmanlike construction would be the California Business and Professions Code, I codes and the California Building Standards Code. 

Quizzes and a Final Exam are given with a passpoint of 80%.  In other words, you can also also get your NABCEP continuing education units (CEUs) too.

COURSE 3: Advanced photovoltaic professional training will also provided for between 30 hours and 40 hours of advanced coursework at a unique location in California.  The cost for this advanced training @ $1490.00 per student for 5 days.

Five (5) day course Wednesday - Sunday to be scheduled at the Chabot Space and Science Center. As an added benefit, the training includes museum admission for students, including planetarium shows. If you would like to be enrolled in the advanced classes please send an email to mail@herzfeld.org   Martin Herzfeld is an Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Certified Master Trainer for the PV Installation Professional and accredited business as one of approximately three certified master trainers in California.  In addition, other guests will be joining us for the training.
