Hannah Solar Government Services Selected to Install Solar at the Thomson Federal Prison
Charleston, SC- Ameresco Inc., has just selected Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) to design and install two ground-mounted solar energy systems for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, part of the U.S. Department of Justice, at the Administrative United States Penitentiary (AUSP) located in Thomson, Illinois.
Ameresco currently serves the Department of Justice under an Energy Saving Performance Contract (ESPC), which is designed to finance energy conservation measures with returns generated by energy savings over time. Because of HSGS’s strong past performance and reputation for safety and quality, Ameresco had the most confidence in selecting the HSGS team to construct the solar PV systems.
HSGS will be installing two solar arrays that will be fixated on open fields surrounding the outside of the penitentiary. Both of these solar PV systems will generate a total of 1.2 megawatts (MW) of clean power.
COL Retired Dave McNeil, President and CEO of HSGS, said, “These solar PV systems will need to produce energy savings for the government for decades and we are honored that Ameresco has chosen HSGS as the most qualified to build what they need.”
HSGS is a veteran-owned business specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of solar PV energy systems. Serving the government, commercial/industrial, and utility marketplaces, HSGS’s breadth of experience includes projects that span the continental United States as well as overseas.
