Clean Energy Professional Development Workshop Series Begins April 28
Appalachian Energy Center combines the expertise of Appalachian State University and national experts to bring you the most comprehensive energy-related professional development courses. Workshops are scheduled on Fridays so you can stay the weekend and enjoy the beautiful North Carolina mountains.
- April 28: 2017 NEC and PV Systems: Inspecting and Designing (new class!)
Rebekah Hren and Brian Mehalic are back to cover significant changes in the 2017 NEC that pertain to PV systems
- May 4: Solar Thermal Water Heating: Overview, Space Heating, and Maintenance
Learn all aspects of solar water heating, including system design, sizing, component selection, installation, performance verification, and maintenance
- May 14-18: Introduction to Photovoltaic System Design & Construction (includes NABCEP PV Associate Exam)

- June 1: Affordable Zero Energy Ready Homes
Take an in depth look at designing zero energy ready homes and tour homes at various stages of construction
Other highlights this year include new residential and commercial energy code trainings, clean energy CLE update, the methods and benefits of post occupancy evaluation for buildings, energy modeling, and microhydro system design and installation.
