Job Qualifications
We’re looking for an experienced Regional Trainer, North America to join our team. The Regional Trainer will be responsible for conducting training courses and field support for SunPower dealers in the North American region. The Regional Trainer will be responsible for conducting technical and process training across the dealer base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Execute training sessions to ensure that the dealer base is trained on the following topic areas:

• Execute training sessions to ensure that the dealer base is trained on the following topic areas: • Best-in-class installation practices, installation process controls and installation quality control methods and procedures, including the assembly of all mechanical and electrical equipment for grid-tied PV systems. • Best-in-class system design and processes • Best-in-class sales methods and processes • Assist the Training Manager to plan, coordinate, develop curricula and evaluate the effectiveness of technical training courses. • Assist Senior Trainers and courseware developers to develop presentations using PowerPoint and write new training content to support classroom, webinars, exams, and self-study online learning. • Coordinate logistics related to conducting hands-on classroom and field classes, including monitoring scheduled attendance, coordinating shipping and receiving, and insuring all necessary equipment and materials are on-hand and in working order. • Report on all training related activities and insure accuracy and integrity of training related data. • Report to R&D, Product Management and Applications Engineering groups to convey customer feedback about products and services to help define requirements for new or updated products. • Design training materials corresponding with the launch of new SunPower products and services. • In conjunction with SunPower Technical Support, support the company’s customers and sales force on all technical issues. Help develop training bulletins and other technical documentation.

Job Responsibilities / Description
• Bachelors degree in engineering, energy technologies, power control or related field • 1+ years of training experience in a semi-autonomous manner • 3+ years of customer technical or application support experience with photovoltaic products or related field, working directly with an installation network. • NABCEP™ PV Installer Certification or eligible for certification with 6 months of employment. • Superior communication skills – both written and oral, good listening skills. • Superior organizational skills (prefer project management experience) • Competence with Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). • Demonstrated experience in creating customer documentation, including system manuals • Strong customer focused attitude • Experience working with licensed contractors and building officials

Preferred • Experience which demonstrates a familiarity with mechanical and electrical engineering principles • Experience with e-learning software and computer-based authoring tools • Degree or Certificate in field related to Adult Education, Instructional Design or Educational Psychology • Experience with CAD and illustration software • Electrical certification

Location Richmond, CA office based. Trainings will be conducted primarily in Richmond and western US. No relocation allowances are given. Plan for at least 30% travel time.
