Summary Duties:

The Construction Superintendent manages and oversees the day-to-day operations at the construction site for all PSG Energy Group renewable energy projects. The Construction Superintendent operates as the eyes and ears of the project managers, ensuring subcontractors are complying with PSG Energy Groups standards and policies. The Construction Superintendent assists with SOW preparation, subcontractor selection, and site walks. During construction, the superintendent acts as the main conduit between the subcontractors and PSG Project Manager, receiving daily field reports, receiving RFI’s, and executing quality-control inspections. This role requires a competency and passion for both field activity and administrative work. The Construction Superintendent reports directly to the Project Manager.

Primary job duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures
  • Work with Project Manager on all change orders to date and budgets
  • Schedule, communicate and coordinate with customer field representative for start date, deliveries and construction progress
  • Set the sequence and assignment of work to minimize exposure to job site safety risks and to keep the installation on budget and on time
  • Fill out necessary paperwork for materials and equipment delivery
  • Constantly monitor all aspects of the execution of the work: labor, material, schedule delays and additional mobilization
  • Visit all jobs in progress daily
  • Translate and interpret construction schematics to actual installation
  • Maintain updated project schedule
  • Distribute weekly – (2) week look ahead schedules for each site
  • Maintain updated Racen Reports
  • Monitor installations with plans, specifications and manufacturers recommendations
  • Maintain consistent job-site cleanliness
  • Coordinate directly with Service Team for labor/equipment needs
  • Commission completed projects


  • Maintains staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.


  • Fluent in MS Office products including MS Project
  • Familiarity with the building/construction trades
  • OSHA 10 Training preferred
  • NABCEP PV or Thermal Certification preferred
  • Equipment operator preferred
  • Proficient with computers, reading blue prints, plans and specs
  • Experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes
  • Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget
  • Ability to analyze project scenarios and coordinate site-specific design modifications with PSG Design Team
  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate employees
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Great attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check, national driving record, and drug screen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Wiling to travel across PSG geographic footprint Travel will be for the duration of project

Education and Experience:

  • 2-5 years of construction supervision experience
  • GED or High School Diploma required
  • Journeyman Electrician preferred
