Solar PV for Engineers
This accredited course will provide basic design and installation instruction for engineers and architects for PV systems including National Electric Code, International Fire Code, and International Building Code considerations (or similar code systems). Participants will receive in-depth and hands-on training on the equipment commonly found in PV systems as well as on utilizing local electrical and building codes in the design and installation of PV systems. This course is intended to provide information fundamental to the design and installation of code compliant PV systems, but should not be considered a course that will provide all the information that one may require in this field.

NYSED (New York State Education Department): 6 Professional Developments Units for Professional Engineers
AIA (American Institute of Architects): 6 Learning Units
DOS BSC: 6 in-service training hours from the New York Department of State, Division of Building Standards and Codes

Topic 2 (Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code) - 1 hour
Topic 3 (Energy Conservation Construction Code) - 1 hour
NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners): 5.5 Credit hours

PV Tech Sales (JTA 5.5/12 or Elective 5.5/6)
SH Installer (JTA 0/6 or Elective 5.5/6)
If applicable, please bring your NY Training ID # with you to the event in order to sign in correctly for CEUs.
Please bring a copy of the NEC Handbook to course for reference purposes. Additional reference materials and resources available through the PV Trainers Network website.
