This is an online course where students work at their own pace. Students learn how photovoltaic (PV) systems operate as well as basic system design and safety practices. The course covers basic electrical terminology, solar fundamentals, detailed discussion of system components, string sizing, site evaluation, shade analysis, system sizing, overcurrent protection, grounding, electrical and mechanical design considerations and OSHA safety standards. The training includes over 15 hours of video instruction, hundreds of practice test questions and live interaction with the instructor. Completion of this course qualifies students to take the NABCEP Entry Level Exam which is administered at computer-based testing centers all over the US. Tuition includes textbook and NABCEP Entry Level Exam Fee.
