Electrical Principles for Alternative Energy - CEAE 0100 (45 hr)

This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of electricity.  Coursework is completed online through the CANVAS learning management system. 

Subjects include:  Electron theory, magnetism, electromagnetism, Ohm's law, parallel and multi-wire circuits, protection devices, AC/DC theory, capcitance, inductance, motor, transformer and generator theory, NEC Code navigation, voltage drop and wire sizing.  This course is a pre-requisite to Basic Photovoltaics which can be waived if you are a currently licensed electrician.
