This course is for home owners interested in solar or for people wanting to get into installing solar. Each class has different information. You may take one or all of them based on how much you want to learn. It includes: introduction to photovoltaics and other renewable-energy technologies; Solar Radiation; Site Surveys and Preplanning; System Components and Configurations; and, practical show and tell in the installation of roof racks, solar modules and inverters. Successful completion of Beginning Solar Knowledge prepares the student for the Intermediate Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Design and Installation course. Those who successfully complete both courses will be prepared to converse with solar contractors, and will have the knowledge and skill sets to apply for positions within the renewable energy industry.
